A Threat?

We know that grassroots and high level amateur sport is under threat due to a shortage of officials.

Officials joining the game are lower than we would all like, retention is hard and there are not enough to replace those leaving.

WhistleFinder wants to help solve this threat and help make officiating easy

We might be in our early stages, however we want to work with all governing bodies and provide our assistance wherever we can

We can provide you data that will help you identify where you should grow coverage, improve retention and utilisation rates, identify environmental impact, further data to support funding applications and evidence progression.

Our initial goal is to increase retention of existing officials. Our research has shown that there are 3 areas of frustration:

  • Administration - There is no coherent way of communicating available games or managing diaries. This results in multiple informal communication channels that are impacting on the officials free time and causing disengagement.

  • Lack of suitable games - Finding games to officiate at the desired level within a reasonable travel distance is not easy

  • Lack of time - Officials are being asked to travel long distances, resulting in a vastly increased time away from home which significantly reduces their availability

By creating WhistleFinder we can remove all of these frustrations

WhistleFinder Supports Growth

By resolving the retention problem we now have officials participating for longer and with less frustration and noise. The more officials we have the better the chance of career progression and an increase in mentors for others looking to further their career.

WhistleFinder Supports Development

We know that it is going to take some time to fix this problem and we cannot do it alone. we want to work with you to understand your unique challenges, what has worked. what has not. and what we can do to help.
